Grand Lake was on the rise this last weekend, but the fishing remaining good to excellent. Catfish are on the move, going to the back of the coves to find warmer water. Large Channel Cats this week with an occasional blue. As soon as the lake stabilizes, the fishing will get really good. Water temperature this week is close to 60.
Crappie are moving as well. We caught large numbers this week in about 10' of water. No black crappie yet, but all had eggs. I was surprised of the numbers of smaller crappie we caught. Look forward to the next three weeks when they move to the bank. I am not for sure they may hold off until the muddy waters in the upper-end starts to clear.
It's time to book a trip. Bring the family. This time of year you can fill the freezer for the summer. Give us a call. 918-605-4123.

Four good old boys coming down from
Concordia ,
Missouri fished Two days this week.
First report comes from the Twin Bridges area, and up the
Spring River . Fishing was pretty slow, but dodging the boats was fun. so many boats up the Spring and not many fish being caught. We ended at
and headed back to the lake.
These boys were drop dead "Jug fishermen". We put out 62 Jugs by dark on Saturday night then went to the house for a fish fry. Sunday morning started pretty slow, but picked up quickly. Ending with about 5 around the 20 pound class and a total of 26 by
. I really enjoyed these guys, TRUE FISHERMEN !

We've been struggling with what we can do to understand why the crappie bite has been falling off recently at Grand Lake.
In cooperation with the Grand Lake Association, has arranged for the folks at the State Wildlife Department to participate in a public meeting to address the declining crappie fishing on Grand over the last three years.
Cliff Sager, Northeast Region Fisheries Biologist with ODWC (Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation), will be the keynote speaker at the Grove Civic Center at 7:00 p.m., March 20, 2007. Fishermen and anyone interested in Grand Lake crappie fishing is invited to attend.
I would recommend that anyone who can should attend this meeting.
Whites are starting to run the river, we plan a guide trip there this weekend and will give you a up to date report next week.
Interested in taking the kids fishing ? Book a trip with us and let us show the kids a great time. We specialize in getting the kids into fish. 918-605-4123.

Jugs by Bert is at the Claremore boat Show this week, #142. This show runs through Thursday 5-9pm, Friday 12-9pm, and Saturday and Sunday. Fishing remains slow but I hear the Crappie is picking up. Grand Lake is slow but a few fish being caught 20-30 ft. on minnows. Oolagah is probably the best bet on Crappie. Great reports coming from the bait docks close to the dam. Jug fishing remains good on Grand with Blue cats being caught down to about 40 ft. with live shad. If you would like to schedule a fishing trip on Grand Lake, give me a call at 918-605-4123.
